Enjoy a day of ACDA events tailored for members just like you! We'll be addressing topics that will be helpful to you at the beginning of your career, as well as helping you make lasting professional connections to peers and headliners.

Please complete this form if you are applying as a singer and participant in the SWACDA Church Honor Choir which will take place in Little Rock, AR on March 5-6, 2020. Our esteemed honor choir conductor is Dr. Craig Jessop, and our collaborative keyboardist is Dr. Jan Kraybill.

In addition to your contact information, this form will ask for your church choir director's name and email. Once your application is submitted, your church choir director will be contacted and will complete the director information form (which will also ask for his/her ACDA member number). 

Singers in the SWACDA Church Honor Choir must be 18 years of age and older. The singer list will be finalized and posted by January 20, 2020. If selected, the singer participant will be responsible for the $130 honor choir fee. This fee includes the sheet music, participation in the honor choir, and grants full access to the conference including the Thursday Conference Dinner and the All-Conference Party on Friday night. All honor choir participants are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and meals not included above.

Rehearsals begin on Thursday, March 5 at 9:00 a.m. and continue through Friday afternoon with a performance at 5:15 p.m. Rehearsals for the Church Music Honor Choir will be held in the First United Methodist Church in Little Rock and the Marriott Little Rock. The performance will be held in the Robinson Performance Center. Participants must attend all rehearsals and final performance.

The online Application is open between September 9, 2019 and January 16, 2020.

COLLEGIATE HONOR CHOIR APPLICATION

Little Rock, Arkansas

March 4 - 7, 2020

• Each college/university and 2-year college is invited to bring as many SATB balanced quartets as you wish. If you have more than 16 total singers applying, please contact Julie Yu at julieyu@ksu.edu as this form currently only allows for 16 entries per director.

• The registration fee for each college participant is $105 (which includes the honor choir music packet).

• The Registration Fee grants full access to the conference including the Thursday Conference Dinner and a College/University Social Event on Friday night. Rehearsals for the Collegiate Honor Choir will be held in the Marriott conference hotel and the performance will be held in the Robinson Performance Center.

• Each Collegiate Honor Choir director will be sent a packet of music for each participant and should have the music fully prepared before March 4, 2020.

Joshua Oppenheim, Conductor

Joshua Oppenheim is Co-Director of Choral Studies at Kansas State University. Prior to that, he was on faculty at the Crane School of Music in New York.  He received his B.M. from Western Michigan University, his M.M. at the University of Mississippi, and his D.M.A. in Choral Conducting at the University of North Texas.  He directs Concert Choir, Collegiate Chorale, Men’s Choir, and In-A-Chord. He teaches undergraduate and graduate conducting and choral rehearsal techniques.  His choirs have performed by invitation at the New York State School Music Association Conference (2007), the Kansas Music Educators Association Conference (2009, 2012), the American Choral Directors Association Southwestern Conference, (2012), and the National Collegiate Choral Organization (2013) He has presented sessions at numerous ACDA conferences in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, as well as the Western and Southwestern ACDA conferences.
